The art of influencing

After attending an event this week where the speaker talked about the art of influencing and it really struck a chord with me and DiSC communication profiling that I do…

Influencing someone is all about talking to them in a manner they respond to, then you are more likely to get the outcome that you desire.

Communication is something we all take for granted until we have a problem with another person and communication breaks down or we need to get someone to do something that they might not want to do or to change behaviours.

The first place to start is to think about how YOU communicate; are you quick thinking or do you prefer time to reflex when asked a question? Are you people or goal orientated?

There is no right or wrong way to communicate, we’re all individuals & communicate in our own way but having an understanding of how you naturally like to communicate will help you build rapport & strong relationships

Once you understand the way you communicate, it’s then important to understand how the people around you like to communicate.

Successful teams communicate well as they all understand each other’s ways of communicating, they also use language that everyone understands & is comfortable with.

I’ve worked with a business who were having trouble retaining staff on a long term basis, all the team members completed DiSC communication profiling and the business has now saved year on year circa £17k in retain current staff members for longer.

ACTION: Look at the diagram below and see which letter you fit into?  What about the people you work with?

DiSC is an acronym for the four primary dimensions of behaviour/communication/influencing styles

Dominance – direct, results-oriented, strong-willed and forceful.

Influence – outgoing, enthusiastic, optimistic and lively.

Steadiness – even-tempered, accommodating, patient and humble.

Conscientiousness – analytical, reserved, precise and systematic.

For July only I am offering 15 people the opportunity to complete a DiSC profile (Fully printed 23 page report), have an hour consultation with me to analyse their profile & show them how it can be used to increase their effectiveness in business –  all for just £99 (Usually £250, that’s a 60% saving)

Secure your profile here and buy an electronic report and I will do the rest.
